Welcome to my NEW website!
Welcome to my brand new website! For those of you who have been to my website in the past it should be very similar to what you are used to with a few exceptions of awesome new features that I was able to achieve through using WIX as my website building platform. This is the third version of my website since it was originally created in 2006 by my friend Hexe. In 2008 I took a Web Design course in University and rebuilt my entire website from scratch. As proud as I was about coding every little bit of my website it was always quite a bother to update it as often as I would hope. I hadn't looked too much into website building platforms and I've recently been helping out my friends over at Daedalus Spinning Wheels with their website on WIX. I was immediately impressed by the versatility, ease of use, and yet ability to finely adjust every bit of the site. I decided to take it upon myself on August 6th I set out to recreate my prior version exactly as it is but also take advantage of all the wonderful new features I would have access to with WIX
The majority of the site worked up quite quickly but the galleries are going to be a slow process. I've got a select amount of previous galleries up and running with other galleries still a work in progress and will be up and running as soon as I can get to them. The gallery set up is a major plus. It's a lot easier to manage and add new content so once I've got all the galleries running you'll be able to expect to see new content here regularly. I'm also looking forward to blogging more frequently so if you'd like to keep an eye on this blog click the Sign Up button to get notifications as well as be able to leave comments. A lot has happened since I last updated my website! I've been keeping busy as the Photo Editor for tinyStudio Creative Life Magazine and I work closely with Daedalus Spinning Wheels as their Social Media Manager/Website Developer. TinyStudio Creative Life Magazine went into print production this year and now has TWO print issues out in the wild.
With the release of tinyStudio Creative Life Issue 12 I had two small articles one about how I keep my spinning WIPs(Works in Progress) organized and the other was some tips I've found helpful with spinning cotton. I also had two articles in Ply Magazine's Consistency issue. One is about my Journey to Consistency and the other is a Person of Interest article on Longdraw James Perry.
At the end of July I got a brand new camera the Canon EOS R5 after having used my EOS 5D MKII for the past 12 years. It was such a spectacular upgrade! I've upgraded a few lenses as well with the new RF 24-105 kit lens and the RF 100mm macro. The macro update is absolutely incredible! This is a 100% crop of singles spun on my Daedalus Sparrow. Absolutely incredible! Make sure to click to full view!
I'm currently taking part in an Outlander Weave-A-Long hosted by Hook & Shuttle. It has been such a blast and I've got to play some catch up before we have the finishing party to learn how to full the fabric.
Last bit of exciting news I'll share for now is that I've started streaming on Twitch! I'll be streaming a combination of Photo Editing, working on my fiber arts projects, and possibly some video games here and there. If you would like to follow along on these streams click here. Streams are recorded so if you miss them just check on my Twitch profile to catch the latest recordings.
Thanks so much for stopping by my new website!
